About The Author

C. M. Fleming, is a westerner by birth, a southerner by choice. 

She received her degree in Pre-law from Eastern New Mexico University.
A former fingerprint technician, she worked as a Uniform Crime Reporting Analyst
with Georgia Bureau of Investigation until 2005. 

These days you will find her entertaining kids of all ages with her zany partner,
Yacky, writing, illustrating, or promoting her books at schools and libraries.

Confessions of a Dreamer

Dream #1.  Grow up and become a famous cowgirl. 

Dream #2.  Grow up and become a famous cowgirl/actress.

Dream # 3.  Grow up and become a famous cowgirl/actress/artist.

Dream #4.  Grow up. 

Dream #5.  Don’t grow up — become a children’s book author — write about cowgirls & cowboys.

(Finally, a dream I can accomplish!) 


Little did I know that it would take years and years to accomplish dream #5.  But being a daughter of the American West.  I did not give up. 

I wrote, and wrote, and wrote.  I submitted, submitted, and submitted some more.

I joined SCBWI (Click HERE for the website).  I hung out with published authors and illustrators.  I listened, and learned, and wrote still more.

Finally…(drum roll please) in 2007, Dianne Hamilton with OnStage Publishing took a chance on me.
